I have prepared a set of exercises, that will help you alleviate the symptoms of varicose veins. For them to be effective, you just need to have the desire and a little patience, because the effects are felt later.
Therapeutic exercises for varicose veins and edema helps to lower blood pressure and maintain blood circulation. It also improves the tone of the venous walls – so that even with an increase in pressure, the vessels will not expand.
Walking, running, cycling, and swimming are all beneficial. The easiest way to walk is to engage the calf muscles, improving blood circulation.
If your legs have not yet been entangled with thick varicose veins and only the initial signs of the disease are noticeable, then the following actions will be useful to you:
Stand on your toes, and then slowly lower your heels until they touch the floor. Rise on your toes again and repeat the exercise. |
Raise your left leg and move it, as if describing an eight. Repeat this with your right foot. |
March in place and wave your arms actively. Raise your knees as high as possible – to waist level. |
Stand up straight and stretch your arms out in front of you. Sit down slowly. Make sure that your knees do not go beyond the border of the feet. |
Sit down and place your hands behind the back of the chair. Raise your legs towards your torso, and then extend them forward. |
To increase the effectiveness of the exercises, you can perform gymnastics for the legs from the previous complex, or you can choose a slightly more complicated option:
- “Bicycle” or “scissors” in the supine position. These exercises help relieve stress on the legs and activate blood flow.
To complicate the previous exercise, you can raise your upper body while doing it. So in parallel, the abdominal muscles will be strengthened. This version of the exercise is especially recommended, given that it is better not to do exercises for the press on an incline bench with varicose veins, since during it the legs are bent in an uncomfortable position.
- From a supine position, as you exhale, lift your straight leg and pull the opposite arm towards it, which is also extended upward. Change your leg. Try 10 reps.
- Lying on your back, raise your bent legs. As you exhale, lift your upper body towards your legs, fix the position for a few seconds.
- Lying on your back, raise your legs alternately above the floor and rotate your feet.
- From the starting position lying on your stomach, alternately raise your straight leg to the maximum height while fixing the position. Do 8-10 reps for each leg.
Regular exercise, combined with proper nutrition and wearing compression hosiery, is an important prerequisite for effective varicose veins treatment. And if physical activity becomes part of your usual lifestyle, then with a high degree of probability you will avoid relapses of the disease and will feel in good shape.
